Day 7
Hey, y’all! We are reliving the memories from our trip just over a year ago. If you’re finding this article, we highly recommend you read Follow Our Ireland Road Trip blog through Day 6 first to get caught up.
We were genuinely sad to leave Enniskillen, we really enjoyed it!
However, everything must move forward, so off we set to Carrick-on-Shannon. From there, we made a brief stop in Limerick, then to Adare.
Day 7 overview:
• Breeze through Carrick-on-Shannon
• Brief stop in Limerick
• One night in Adare
OK, let’s dive in!
Carrick-on-Shannon
We stopped here because it seemed like a good place to stop for breakfast on our commute day.
We were excited to find Honestly Farm Kitchen, but Mikey whooped out, “OOOOOOH, I see a McDonald’s! I have to try it out of country!”. Compromise was in the air, so the 3 of us went to Honestly and Mikey joined us with his McDonald’s. By now, we have the “enjoy a leisurely meal thing down”!

On the podcast, we talked about the launderette in front of the grocery store, so of course we had to share it here :) Note the variety of sizes available.
Limerick
Unfortunately, we did not arrive in time to explore the Milk Market. Instead, we took Option B, walked the city and took some pictures.

Adare
Adare is a quaint coastal town. We loved seeing the homes with thatched roofs!

Country House
We stayed at Country House and were able to walk everywhere we wanted, which was perfect. MO loved that they still use old-fashioned keys (you know, the long ones with intricate ends that look antique), but Joy was not impressed.

Joy here: I find these long one tooth keys absolutely useless! You stick the key in the door and wiggle, and wiggle and turn, and stand on your head, then stick your tongue out and lean to the left and then FINALLY the lock MIGHT unclick for you. I am NOT a fan of the anticipatory anxiety of the unlock process. Will it unlock? Will it not? Will I be stuck in the hallway all night long and have to sleep out there? [Rant done]
We did enjoy the wrought iron table and chairs after dinner. We had a relaxing time reflecting on the trip and discussed thoughts for the rest of the trip.
Holy Trinity Abbey Church
Before dinner, we explored the Trinitarian Monastery and could sense the reverence. It has quite the history, which can be reviewed in detail here:

Pat Collins
We decided to go to Pat Collins Bar for dinner. As we were looking at the menu on the outside wall, a lady came out and told us we must have the Irish Stew. In we went and it was Irish Stew all around! As we've stated before on the podcast, you can tell the difference in the quality of the food over there. Happy cows make delicious stews and butters! Happy wheat makes delicious brown breads full of all the good nutrients!

Adare Town Park
After dinner, we walked through the park. All of the flowers were in full bloom and the park was well maintained.
